Position Summary The Drafter II works under supervision of CNC Programming Supervisor preparing technical and mechanical drawings showing the detail and method of assembly of a specific part of machinery and mechanical devices and the manufacture of equipment. May participate in designing special modifications to existing machinery or parts. Perform a modeling, drafting or Engineering Change Order process with minimum errors. Knowledge of Mastercam is a plus. Have knowledge of drafting, dimensioning, tolerancing and manufacturing processes.
Responsibilities
Prepare technical drawings and resolve associated mechanical and fabrication problems
May participate in designing special modifications to existing machinery or parts
Perform a modeling, drafting, or Engineering Change Order (ECO) process with minimum errors
Prepare drawings showing the detail and method of assembly of a wide variety of machinery and mechanical devices.
Indicate dimensions, fastening methods, and other requirements on drawings.
Create to scale CAD drawings from sketches or parts
Maintain drawing database
Perform cost analysis based on manufacturing capability and design quality
Job Requirements
Requirements
High school diploma or Associate's degree in drafting or Completion of a technical school drafting program
Or 2 years experience using CAD systems preferred
Or Combination of education and equivalent experience using CAD systems
Experience in SolidEdge, SolidWorks, or Inventor is a plus
Understanding of MasterCam is a plus
Knowledge of traditional drafting techniques, and mechanical drafting
Able to interact with Customer Service and Fab departments to create drawings from DXF or DWG files
Ability to use tables, calculators and computers
Proficient in using a computer including Word, Excel, and Outlook
Knowledge of drafting standards, mathematics, science, and engineering technology
Capable of successfully working on multiple projects concurrently while adhering to deadline schedules
Ability to adhere to ethical principles that reflect the highest standards of organizational and individual behavior
Possess effective organizational and time management skills, be detail oriented, manage competing priorities for multiple tasks and consistently meet all deadlines
