Sacramento is located almost dead center in the diverse geography of California. It’s considered a just-right-sized city — big enough to offer city life but small enough that it doesn’t feel crowded. As the state capital, there are lots of government employment opportunities at many levels. Housing costs are much lower than other cities in the state, and incredible recreational opportunities are just a short drive away, including majestic Yosemite, Napa wineries, and California’s Gold Country.
